Well, who doesn't want a pair of ruby slippers? I toyed with the idea of buying some from an amazing Etsy seller, but I was still majorly concerned about comfort. You see, having a foot which is fused, and wearing an insert, I need a strap on my shoes, and they must be completely flat.
I want to be able to dance and have fun on my wedding day without worrying about my feet.
I googled a few tutorials, and decided to make my most comfy pair of shoes into my dream shoes!

Today we visited Spotlight and I was excited to see in the glue section Mod Podge! I thought I would have to use something else as it didn't seem like anywhere in Melbourne would have it, but there it was! Woooo!
Here are the shoes before the glitter fest...
I bought three $10 bottles of glitter, but only needed one, and made three coats of glitter/Mod Podge, waiting 20 mins in between coats, and then put a sealer coat on.
I had removed the lonely button from the strap on the right shoe, as I lost one on the left shoe ages ago... and then we found some gorgeous red heart buttons also in Spotlight, and I sewed the strap to the shoe and added the gorgeous little buttons.
They have turned out soooooo perfect and they are SO comfy. Yehawwww! Sailor Jerry was hanging out with me and got glitter all over his tail. He is such a funny kitty.
I am so happy with them, and it was way cheaper than buying the ruby slippers I have come across online :)
Here they are before I put the buttons on... The strap isn't sewn down here.
And here is the button!!!
Of course, I have a LOT of glitter to clean up, but hey, who doesn't love glitter? Except boys of course... hehe sorry Christian!
These are all iPhone pics for now... though I will be sure to bombard you with heaps more photos of them on our wedding day!
